DoseVault is built so that we never see your data. This policy covers DoseVault on iPhone (iOS) and on Android, and it is short because there is almost nothing to disclose. DoseVault has no accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics or advertising SDKs of our own on either platform.
Nothing about you personally. We do not operate any server that receives your data, on either platform.
Everything you log (medications, doses, weight, side effects, photos, measurements) is stored on your device in a local database. On iPhone, if iCloud sync is available, your data is also stored in your personal, private iCloud database, encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple; Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. On Android, your data stays on the phone, and if Android backup is turned on, your medication log is included in your own Google account backup (Android's standard Auto Backup for Apps), encrypted by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your data on either platform, and no sign-in is required.
If you enable weight sync on iPhone, DoseVault reads and writes body weight in Apple Health on your device. Health data is never transmitted to us and is used solely to display your progress inside the app.
On Android, DoseVault can optionally read and write your body weight through Health Connect, Android's on-device health data platform. This is off until you turn it on in the app, and it covers weight only, nothing else. DoseVault talks to Health Connect entirely on your device, through Android's own inter-process communication: your weight data is never sent to us, never shared with any other party, and never used for advertising. Weight read from or written to Health Connect is handled in accordance with the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can review or revoke DoseVault's Health Connect access at any time in Android Settings > Apps > DoseVault > Permissions, or inside the Health Connect app itself.
Dose reminders are scheduled on your device using the operating system's own alarm and notification tools: on iPhone, iOS notifications; on Android, exact alarms and the notification permission, plus permission to restart those alarms after your phone reboots, so a reminder you already scheduled still fires after a restart. None of this sends any information about your medications or reminders off your device.
On Android, DoseVault contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. It does contain Google Play's billing library, which Google Play requires for in-app purchases. That library lets Google Play process and restore your purchases, and it also sends Google technical diagnostics about those purchase connections, such as whether a request to Google Play succeeded, so that Google can keep its billing service working. This happens for every user the moment the app checks purchase status, not only for people who buy Pro.
On iPhone, subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account; we receive no payment details. On Android, subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Google Play through your Google Play account; we receive no payment details there either. See the Terms of Use for how to manage or cancel on each platform.
You can export all of your data as CSV at any time from Settings, on either platform, and erase everything by deleting the app: on iPhone, also remove DoseVault data from iCloud in iOS Settings; on Android, uninstalling the app deletes its local data immediately, unless you later reinstall and restore it from your own Google account backup.
DoseVault is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
